Please review Expectations for Directors before submitting a nomination for yourself or another individual.

Nominations can be submitted at any time. The WSU Foundation Board of Directors utilizes a “rolling recruitment” method, where nominations are received and reviewed throughout the year.

The Board is currently recruiting for the cohort which would serve January 1, 2025-December 31, 2027.

Expectations for Directors

Directors are engaged with the WSU Foundation and WSU through commitments of their time, expertise, and philanthropic support.

Directors serve three (3) year terms (January 1 – December 31), with the option to renew for a consecutive term, typically spending six (6) years on the Board. After two (2) successive three (3) year terms, a Director is eligible for re-election after one (1) year has elapsed.

Directors are encouraged to financially support the university at a minimum of $25,000 each year of their term. For Directors under the age of 40 at beginning of their term (and for the duration of their term), the suggested annual gift is $10,000 to the WSU campus, college or program of choice.

The WSU Foundation seeks volunteers who represent diversity in age, gender, ethnicity, alumni or parent status, professional expertise, geographic location, and area of support to WSU. Please consider nominating individuals who bring a variety of personal and professional experiences to the WSU Foundation. Individuals who previously served on the Board are eligible to be nominated, provided they have spent at least one year off the Board. Please submit one form for each individual nomination.
