College of Nursing

Since its inception in 1969, WSU College of Nursing has grown in size and influence. Our founders brought courage, diplomacy, and vision to our college. They demonstrated that nurses stand second-to-none and are an integral part of healthcare delivery. By embodying our values of integrity, caring, altruism, social justice, and maximizing health potential, we have carried on their traditions and are delivering the best and most dedicated nurses into the global healthcare community.

WSU College of Nursing remains committed to excellence in research, education, and practice throughout the state, offering degree programs in Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, and Yakima. Our success is dependent upon the generosity of dedicated alumni, friends, faculty, and staff. We are humbled and honored when you extend your commitment to invest in our mission of inspiring and transforming healthcare for generations to come.

Dean’s Excellence Fund for Nursing

Annual gifts are used at the dean’s discretion for the college’s most urgent needs in teaching, scholarship, and research. These unrestricted funds enable the dean to act immediately to meet unanticipated needs or opportunities to ensure continuity in faculty and educational excellence. By supporting the Dean’s Excellence Fund, you are helping to prepare the next generation of nurses, and your contribution is the most direct way to make an immediate impact. Faculty innovation has been identified as the most urgent funding need, including support for endowed professorships, start-up packages, research, and travel support. The need is acute, reflecting a national nursing faculty shortage across the United States. In this extremely competitive market, we must act strategically to attract exceptional faculty and recognize and reward professors who are leaders in the field of nursing.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Many of our students juggle the demands of work, family, and life, along with their undergraduate studies. Scholarships help ease this burden and enable students to devote their time and energy to pursuing their academic goals. Scholarships can be endowed to honor an individual or organization, thus continuing in perpetuity. Help impact the career of a WSU nursing student and support the Nursing Annual Scholarship/Loan Fund.

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate fellowships enhance our DNP and PhD programs and make them more attractive to potential students, especially with students enrolled in summer courses. Fellowships make it possible for highly qualified and motivated individuals to receive advanced training and become clinicians providing individual and population health services, along with scientists conducting research in the areas of behavioral health, community & public health, education innovations & outcomes, and patient care quality & safety. Your support will help recruit and retain the best and brightest students at the College of Nursing.
