College of Agricultural, Human & Natural Resource Sciences

At its core, the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) is committed to Washington State University’s land grant mission of economic impact, cutting-edge research, and innovate education across 27 majors, ranging across production agriculture, natural sciences, human development, and beyond. CAHNRS is an expansive and diverse college that includes 16 academic units, 4 research and extension centers distributed across the state, 13 subject matter centers, and 39 county and one tribal extension offices.

Without a doubt agriculture, natural, and life sciences can be seen in our everyday lives. From the food we eat, to the landscapes we enjoy, to the clothes we wear, CAHNRS’ research and education enhances lives. CAHNRS faculty and students work to feed our world, protect our environment, enrich our youth, improve public health, and contribute to economic growth. Not to mention make some of best cheese in the world – Cougar Gold!

As an integral part of CAHNRS, WSU Extension is the front door to the University and brings the vast knowledge of WSU directly to our youth, families, farms and ranches, communities, and businesses. Many are aware of the services Extension provides to the agricultural community, but WSU Extension provides expertise and know-how to sectors as diverse as nutrition, youth education, and technology.

Center for Transformational Learning and Leadership (CTLL)

CAHNRS recognized the need to support career success of our graduates. In 2013, through a collaboration with industry partners, we created the Center for Transformational Learning and Leadership by providing opportunities to acquire job-relevant skills sets as a part of their college experiences. The CTLL supports international immersion, capstone courses, leadership courses, and the overall college to career transition. We invite you to learn more about the center here.
