WSU Tri-Cities has a hands-on learning approach when educating students, focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. The campus currently serves more than 1,600 students, which allows for a private-school feel at a public-school price. Because the campus is located near world-renowned engineering firms, federal agencies, and laboratories, students interact with eminent professors engaged in world-changing research and with community leaders committed to providing internships and other hands-on learning opportunities. All of these experiences are built upon a sound foundation and thorough inclusion of the arts and sciences. Students are also encouraged to be engaged in service learning opportunities such as helping build a house with Habitat for Humanity, volunteer at a blood drive, or work with a local non-profit to provide services to those in need. Lastly, there is a plethora of clubs, sports and activities to be involved in as well.
