WSU Student Artwork Contest

Five winners will each receive $500!

WSU Foundation Gift Planning works closely with WSU alumni and friends in creating gift plans that facilitate their personal and philanthropic goals. Many of these gifts come to WSU through their estates.

WSU Foundation Gift Planning is looking for specialized “one of a kind” pieces of student artwork to produce marketing materials and greeting cards that will be gifted to our WSU alumni and friends who have committed to supporting WSU through programs such as student scholarships.

This is a great opportunity for you to expand your portfolio and enhance your art skills and creativity while giving back to WSU!

All artwork entries are to be WSU themed; suggested themes below (but not limited to):

Scenic landmarks and landscapes of any of the WSU campuses
WSU flag display on Game Day
Butch Cougar in action
Use your “WSU themed” imagination

Eligibility

All currently enrolled WSU Students, located on any WSU campus location (Pullman, Spokane, Everett, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, Global)

Contest rules and requirements

Each participant may enter one piece of artwork.
Any hand-done, computer graphic, two-dimensional art/medium may be used. Please note: No AI generated artwork will be accepted.
Website submission of the following:
1. Accepted file types are JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and PDF
2. Make sure your artwork is the highest resolution possible (scanning is encouraged), not crooked, and easy to see and/or read
3. Short description stating what inspired you to create this artwork
Entries will be accepted electronically until December 1, 2024.
All artwork is subject to cropping for printing purposes.

Contestant Acknowledgement and Release Statement(Required)

I acknowledge my entry (the “Work”) in the WSU Foundation Gift Planning Artwork Contest is conditioned on my assignment to Washington State University Foundation of all copyright, title, and interest in and to the Work, including, without limitation, the right to reproduce, publish, adapt, modify, distribute, create derivative works, display, publicize, and transmit. I further certify that the Work is an original piece of artwork created solely by me and was neither copied from nor does it include another person’s copyrighted material.

All winners of cash prizes will be required to complete a W9 form prior to payment. Prize money awarded to international students will be subject to taxes and fees. Prize money may take up to 4 weeks after receiving documentation to be processed. The WSU Foundation and WSU are not responsible or liable for any claims related to the artwork entry, including those related to infringements of intellectual property rights, public dissemination of the artwork and invasion of privacy, libel or slander. The WSU Foundation and WSU are also not responsible for technical hardware or software failures of any kind, for lost or unavailable network connections, or for failed, incomplete, garbled, and/or delayed computer transmissions that may limit, or interfere with, a participant’s ability to take part in the contest. By participating in the contest, you agree to release and discharge WSU and the WSU Foundation their administration, directors, officers, employees, sponsors, and their agents from all actions, claims, and demands arising out of your participation in the contest, the awarding of the prize, or the use of any personal information.
