WSU Cougs4Cougs Program FAQ

What happens once the projects are posted?

Projects will be showcased on the website for three months or until the fundraising goal is met, whichever is less. There will be four projects showcased at any given time.

How will the projects be marketed?

Student organizations will be responsible for marketing their projects through social media, flyers, email etc. to their networks, including but not limited to, parents, friends, faculty, staff, alumni and other WSU students. Your organization’s self-marketing efforts should speak to why your specific project is important and how it will benefit the WSU student body. The WSU Foundation will not provide any marketing materials. However, we will provide advice on how to best market your program, project, or event.

What happens if the fundraising goal is NOT reached?

If your fundraising goal is not reached within 90 days and your organization is unable to implement your project with the funds raised, the money will be transferred to the CougParents Program Fund. This must occur as a result of the necessity for the Foundation to distribute the funds in an appropriate manner. The CougParents Program Fund supports registered student organizations and special projects throughout WSU and funding decisions are made by the CougParents Advisory Board. To learn more about the CougParents Program please click HERE.

In the above instance, your organization may apply for an award from the CougParents Program. The CougParents Advisory Board typically meets twice a year on Mom’s and Dad’s Weekend. Due to the timing of these meetings this may not be an option for your organization to acquire supplementary funding. Also please keep in mind it is not guaranteed that funding will be awarded by the CougParents Advisory Board.

If your fundraising goal is not reached within 90 days and your organization is able to implement your project with the funds raised, the money will still be transferred to your organization for its intended purpose upon proof of ability to implement project.

What happens after the fundraising goal is reached?

If your fundraising goal is reached on or before the 90 day time limit, the project will be removed from the website immediately and the total amount raised will be transferred into the account number provided on the application.
