Once a Coug, always a Coug: Words that have become a creed shared by WSU students, alumni, and supporters alike. In more ways than one, Jim and Lisa King have found them to be true indeed.

KingJimLisa-1-1024x848In 1978, then-WSU students Jim King (’80 Bus. Admin., Const. Mgmt.) and Lisa Knocker (’08 Soc. Sci.) met and fell in love on the Pullman campus. Two years later, on commencement day, they married. What they probably didn’t know at that time was that their commitment and dedication to WSU would be one sustained for life.

“Our unique experiences of student life at WSU created a lifelong bond,” says Jim. “Throughout our personal and business lives, we have encountered numerous persons across the nation impacted by something initiated at WSU. What an amazing legacy that allows us to hold a great sense of pride for our associations with the institution!”

Longtime supporters of the University, Jim and Lisa’s gifts toward scholarships, global campus development, student athletes, and the hospitality and business management programs have gained them recognition as Crimson Benefactors.

“We give to WSU because we believe education is the key to the overall betterment of society. Our children are our future employees, and community, national, and world leaders; it’s our job to provide a strong foundation for them,” says Lisa.

Such commitment is one that continues to help WSU provide world-class opportunities that will attract quality students and educators, a commitment that will benefit generations of future Cougs.
