Give to WSUDedicated supporters Bill (’49 Math) and Peggy Barton having been making annual gifts to WSU for more than 51 years, and become Diamond Donors in 2010. Over the years they have supported everything from programs in the Honors College to the Alumni Association but their primary area of passion at WSU has always been student scholarships. It was natural for them to want to fund a permanent scholarship.
In 2000, the couple took advantage of the Testamentary Flex Endowment option available through the WSU Foundation by including WSU in their Will and creating a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA). For the time being, they honor the commitment of their endowment through annual gifts that provide scholarships to deserving students each year. At the time of their passing, their previously created CGA and their estate provision will fully fund the endowment. The Barton Endowed Scholarship will then be awarded annually to deserving students forever, ensuring that the Bartons’ legacy at WSU is always remembered.
