About The Foundation

Thank you for nominating a volunteer to serve on the WSU Foundation Advocates!

  • WSU Foundation Advocates are critical to philanthropic success at the university. The Advocate role is an opportunity for individuals to stay informed about WSU's priorities and special events and deepen their engagement and understanding of WSU Advancement to propel WSU forward. WSU’s ability to expand development opportunities requires a broad range of individuals who are dedicated to the advancement of WSU’s goals.

The Advocate role is designed for those who wish to increase their knowledge and engagement with WSU, including those who may be interested in learning more about a specific college or unit volunteer opportunity and the WSU Foundation Board of Directors.

Please submit one form for each individual nomination.

Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. Membership updates are provided at every volunteer meeting. Once a nomination is received, Foundation staff and Advocate leadership will review the nomination. Nominees will be contacted to discuss their desired involvement and confirm their interest.

Candidates should possess the ability to:

    • Engage with WSU Foundation staff and fellow Advocates to share the story of WSU, connect potential donors with development staff, and assist fundraising efforts as needed.
    • Have already reached or commit to joining the President’s Associate giving level on an annual basis.
    • Attend WSU Foundation Annual Meetings in Fall and Spring.

The WSU Foundation seeks volunteers who represent diversity in age, gender, ethnicity, alumni or parent status, professional expertise, geographic location, and area of support to WSU.

If you have questions about the eligibility of an individual, your nomination, or would like assistance with this form, please contact Kelly Welch, Director of Volunteer Engagement at kelly.welch1@wsu.edu or 509-335-1056.

  • Share stories of their commitment and relationship to WSU, how their involvement may grow or change over time, and examples of their personality and volunteer interests.

  • Thank you for your nomination!
