Taylor-3For graduating senior Paige Blue, scholarships opened the door to greater opportunity. With more time to focus on her education, Paige has excelled  as a genetics and cell biology major and has devoted her time at WSU to helping others through her academic leadership and service in several on- and off-campus programs.

I am…
Paige Blue, and I’ll be graduating in 2014 with a degree in genetics and cell biology and a minor in psychology and pre-genetic counseling.

My scholarships are important to me because…
They have helped lessen the load of college tuition and help me to focus on my studies.

I love college because…
Taylor-1My coursework keeps me on my toes and constantly fills my drive and passion for learning. I’m also involved with the national honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi. I serve as vice president of Phi Sigma Pi at WSU and as an initiate advisor. I love being surrounded by intelligent and driven individuals.

Outside of class, I…
Belong to the Molecular Bioscience Club and work for the Cougar Leadership Program, which provides experiential learning opportunities and challenges to groups.

What’s next…

I plan on drawing from all the experiences I’ve had to go to graduate school and pursue a master’s degree in genetic counseling.

Three unique things about me…

  1. I have volunteered in South Africa.
  2. Until my junior year of high school, I thought I wanted to be a fashion designer.
  3. I dislike the taste of mint.

To my scholarship donors…
