Few things have the ability to unite an entire community—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and local residents—like Cougar Athletics. And when it does happen, few groups have the power to rev up the Cougar spirit like the Cougar Marching Band. That is why the late Lloyd G. Cyr (’55 Polit. Sci.) named the Cougar Marching Band in his Will. LLoydHis generous bequest of more than $300,000 will create five annual scholarships for band members and supplement budgets for operations and travel. This gift demonstrates how campus organizations and student activities enrich the college experience and cultivate an indelible bond between alumni and their alma mater—Lloyd played clarinet in the band as a student and throughout his life delighted in being a Coug.
